Pues bien, desde IBM quieren acabar con esto, para lo que est\u00e1n desarrollando una bater\u00eda que, dicen, <strong>dotar\u00e1 a los el\u00e9ctricos de una autonom\u00eda de 800 kil\u00f3metros.<!--more--><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>IBM asegura que ha logrado estas bater\u00edas gracias a la <strong>tecnolog\u00eda Li-air<\/strong> que, en vez de tener \u00f3xidos met\u00e1licos como las <a href=\"http:\/\/blogs.elpais.com\/eco-lab\/2010\/04\/la-bateria-de-litio-del-coche-electrico.html\" target=\"_blank\">bater\u00edas de litio<\/a> actuales, tienen un electrodo positivo formado por carbono. Y este carbono, al reaccionar con el ox\u00edgeno ambiental, forma corrientes el\u00e9ctricas.<\/p>\n<p>No obstante, las bater\u00edas Li-air tienen todav\u00eda un gran inconveniente: <strong>el electrodo de carbono crea problemas con los ciclos de recarga<\/strong> debido a ciertas inestabilidades qu\u00edmicas. Eso s\u00ed, desde IBM aseguran que est\u00e1n a punto de encontrar una soluci\u00f3n gracias a unos compuestos que no han desvelado.<\/p>\n<p>Si al final logran superar todos los obst\u00e1culos y la bater\u00eda se desarrolla, sus ventajas ser\u00edan bastante impresionantes: la densidad el\u00e9ctrica ser\u00eda diez veces mayor a la actual de iones de litio, <strong>su vida estimada ser\u00e1 cinco veces mayor<\/strong> y adem\u00e1s ser\u00e1n m\u00e1s peque\u00f1as y ligeras.<\/p>\n<p>\u00bfCu\u00e1ndo veremos esto? Desde IBM prometen <strong>tener un prototipo funcional ya en este a\u00f1o<\/strong>, y estiman que su llegada al mercado tenga lugar alrededor de 2020.
